Lifestyle and Prevent Cancer

Changes in lifestyle contribute 30 percent toward cancer prevention. Thus the assertion of the World Health Organization (WHO) issued in Geneva, Switzerland, Friday (03/02/2012), ahead of World Cancer Day.

AFP news agency reported, among the key risk factors of cancer are smoking and drinking alcohol. Also due to the strict diet of vegetables and fruits, as well as lack of exercise.

Smoking are key risk factors and causes of cancer have so far accounted for 22 percent of cancer deaths globally, and 71 percent of deaths from lung cancer.



Reducing smoking will help reduce the death rate from cancer. Likewise with eating more fruits and vegetables and increasing exercise activity can reduce cancer.

Citing statistics in 2008, cancer cause of death of 7.6 million people worldwide in that year. This number increased 13 per cent of total global deaths.

Lung cancer, stomach, liver, colon and breast cancer became a major penyebabkan death. About 70 percent of all cancer deaths in 2008, experienced in countries of low or medium income.

WHO mempridiksi cancer deaths will continue to rise, and is expected to lead to 13.1 million people died of cancer in 2030.
